Farmer's Market = Chocolate Coma

For the past few weeks I have gone to the Scituate Farmers Market.  It is a great feeling to know where your food is coming from.  Not only was I able to get the usual  assortment of fruits and vegetables but also I found something special on my last trip to the Scituate Farmer’s Market. ...... There was a booth selling chocolate.  This wasn’t just any type of chocolate this was homemade chocolate with very different flavors. My husband had heard about this small chocolate company and suggested we purchase the sampler box.  This chocolate is high end and will put you in a chocolate heaven.

My favorite flavors:
Basil Infusion
Wild Minty Fresh
B&W Sesame Truffle
Sweet and Salty Margarita

If you are looking for the perfect hostess gift or just like chocolate this local confection is a must try.  I have never tasted chocolates like these chocolates.  They are crafted with elegance and have a fine smooth taste that will tease your pallet for more.

I can’t wait for the Scituate Farmers Market next week so I can go back for more!

Celebration at Oro

My husband and I celebrated our four-year wedding anniversary this week.  We celebrated by having a wonderful dinner at Oro.  I have to disagree with the Boston Globe’s recent review or Oro.  In my opinion Oro is everything Scituate needed in dining for a very long time and more.  It has become one of my favorite restaurants for a special occasion up with Riva.   The décor is sleek and modern.  The food is excellent.  The cocktails are very tasty…the bar certainly does not skimp on their alcohol pours.  The staff is professional in everyway from the time you walk through the door until the time you leave. This was our third trip to Oro.  I would highly recommend ordering raw Duxbury oysters as an appetizer, the lobster cakes for an entree, which have little fill, and the crème brulee as a sweet ending to your night.    Oro was a special place to enjoy our special day together.  It seems like yesterday in was 7/7/7 and we were getting married on the beach next to the Scituate Yacht club under the July sun and starting a life together.    For many years to come!
